Delivering

measurable change

for refugee artisans

MADE51 creates economic opportunities for refugee artisans, enabling them to earn a fair income, develop their skills, and keep their craft traditions alive. For MADE51 artisans, craft is more than a livelihood – it is a testament to their strength and perseverance. It preserves heritages and fosters creativity. For refugee youth, artisanal work is a bridge to the future, equipping them with marketable skills while keeping them connected to their cultural roots.

Through our network of social enterprise partners, we ensure that displaced artisans have access to dignified work while preserving their cultural heritage. We track our impact annually through structured data collection, ensuring transparency and accountability. Social enterprise partners monitor artisan participation, earnings and skill development, while UNHCR country offices oversee compliance with protection standards. For larger brand collaborations, we implement a standardised impact measurement system that links production data to artisan payments, providing deeper insight into income generation and social benefits.

“Being self-reliant makes me feel independent and proud of myself. I am grateful for this opportunity to earn on my own. From the small amount, I am able to send my six-year-old daughter to kindergarten. I’m very happy about it.”
