About Threads of Hope

Threads of Hope Cairo is a for-profit social enterprise whose primary goal is to produce sustainable work for marginalized local women, refugees and migrants in Cairo, Egypt. It was founded in 2019 by Malaika linens as an independent social enterprise. Currently, ToH provides 6 different types of embroidery training through expert trainers. Their workspace, located in Cairo, provides a safe and comfortable environment where the women can bring their children as they work or attend training.

Refugee Artisan Group

Threads of Hope collaborates with Eritrean, Ethiopian, Sudanese, Syrian, and Yemeni refugees living in Egypt. Currently, the group consists of 311 refugee and host community women based in Cairo.
