About Ă˜sterland
Ă˜sterland was founded to pay homage to aesthetic, passion, refugees and heritage. Ă˜esterland was founded in 2021 in Copenhagen, Denmark and works with artisans in Egypt, TĂ¼rkiye and Afghanistan. Ă˜esterland uses materials such as locally harvested wool, cotton, silk, plant-based weaves, gold, silver, gemstones, and brass from the regions they are working in. By working with natural materials and creating employment opportunities for local communities, they aim to contribute to poverty reduction by supporting the creation of sustainable and decently paid jobs for artisans in the Middle East and Central Asia.
Refugee Artisan Group
Ă˜esterland collaborates with internally displaced persons in Afghanistan and Syrian refugees living in TĂ¼rkiye. The artisans are based in Herat and Kabul in Afghanistan and in Kilis, Hatay, Gaziantep and Istanbul in TĂ¼rkiye.
