About Waste Studio

Waste Studios journey began in 2006 by reusing advertising banners to produce bags for everyday use. Today, the brand designs urban and classic bags, accessories, and furniture that are both aesthetically beautiful and sustainable, prioritising recycled and reused materials.

Refugee Artisan Group

A group of 9 Syrian refugee artisans work with Waste Studio, of which 96% are women. These artisans work with upcycled material, transforming it into home decor and accessories, finished with embroidered details.

Q&A WITH WAFAA

“When I come through the door I throw everything behind me and I live. We collaborate as a group – there’s a feeling of closeness. They’re all refugee women, they’ve fled war and have relatives back in Syria. It’s like a new family. One of them even calls me Mum.”
