About Indus Heritage Trust

Indus Heritage Trust is a not-for-profit organization established in Pakistan in 2004 with the aim to preserve and promote Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.

The organisation enables women artisans to become entrepreneurs by building their capacity to produce crafts at a larger scale, strengthening their social capital and increasing their networking opportunities.

In their product collections, Indus Heritage Trust works primarily with ancient embroidery techniques such as chunri, ralli and block printing. They work with artisans to refine their heritage stitches and help develop contemporary designs that showcase these skills in a way that fits the demands of a modern market.

Refugee Artisan Group

There are 332 Afghan refugees working with Indus Heritage Trust in Pakistan, predominantly based in rural areas of the country. 86% of these artisans are women.
